Candidate wells for fractional flow determination should produce 100% oil. Zone size can be from five to fifty feet. The well can be produced by free-flow, rod pump, gas lift, electrical submersible pump or other suitable artificial lift method. The connate water is shown here as a separate phase but instead of sharing the pore space with the oil, it is shown above the oil phase to help illustrate the partitioning tracer concepts.
